Petrochemical Terminal

Since 1981 the Port of Sines has a terminal dedicated to petrochemical products, the TPQ – Petrochemical Terminal, which allows the handling of goods via a dedicated pipeline between vessels and the petrochemical complex located in the ZILS – Sines Industrial and Logistics Area of Sines. This terminal is run by Repsol Polímeros on a private use concession regime.

The TPQ has two jetties with beds of 12 metres ZH, allowing the reception of vessels up to 20.000 m3 of cargo capacity, moving products such as Propylene, Ethylene, Butadiene, ETBE, Ethanol, MTBE, Aromatic Compounds, Methanol.

A storage park forms an integral part of this terminal with two cryogenic storage tanks for ethylene (25.000 m3) and propylene (22.000 m3), two butadiene spheres with 4,500 m3 each, an ETBE tank with 10.000 m3 and an ethanol tank with 6.000 m3.
